Police arrest man after aggravated robbery – far South Coast

A man has been arrested following an alleged aggravated robbery at a service station on the far south coast.

Shortly after 4.30am today (Friday 8 November 2019) two men allegedly forced their way into a service station on Sapphire Coast Drive, Tura Beach.

One of the men allegedly punched a service station attendant in the face before taking an amount of cash and cigarettes and fleeing in a silver car.

Police were called and attended the scene shortly after.

About 6.30am, a woman reported her car as being stolen from an address in Bega.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District commenced an investigation into the two incidents.

About 9am, officers were called to Loftus Street Bemboka following reports of a disturbance.

A 23-year-old man, who police allege was involved in the two previous incidents, was arrested and taken to Bega Police Station.

Charges are expected to be laid and police inquiries are continuing.
