Bathurst Metro offering 10-cent discount on petrol to motorists for two days

BATHURST motorists can make some big savings at the bowser this week.

The Metro Petroleum retailer on the corner of Rocket and Bant streets will offer discounts on fuel on Tuesday and Wednesday as an early Christmas present.

“It will be 10 cents cheaper than the regular price, all varieties,” owner Raja Kallem said.

The fuel discount will apply on both days between 10.30am and 3.30pm.

In addition to the discount, there will be a free barbecue operating during that time.

Although Mr Kallem is also the owner of the Metro at Perthville, he said the discounts would only be available at his South Bathurst petrol station.

“We own the one at Perthville, but we don’t have big enough tanks, they are quite small, so we can’t do it there,” he explained.

Extra fuel will be delivered ahead of the promotion to meet the extra demand that is expected as a result of the 10-cent discount.

“It will be filled up [with customers],” Mr Kallem said.

Mr Kallem said he wanted to give back and “thank customers for supporting us” during 2018.

He encouraged people to visit the Metro and “take advantage of the lowest price around for fuel”.

Fuel prices have been slowly dropping in Bathurst recently, which is the result of improved global factors.

As of Monday, most retailers around Bathurst were offer unleaded fuel for around 130 cents per litre, while diesel was closer to 150 cents per litre.

Meanwhile, e10 was priced generally between 126.7 and 129.9 cents per litre.

The NRMA, a strong advocate for motorists, has always encouraged motorists to shop around for the best price and support the retailers giving the best deals to motorists.
